Tourism Auckland welcomes convention centre announcement

Speaking to miceNZ DIGITAL last week, Tourism Auckland CEO Graeme Osborne said if and when a mooted 5000-seat national convention centre did materialise it would mean far more for New Zealand than possibly imagined.

Rydges Harbourview Auckland Hotel upgrade
 
After a $25 million redevelopment, the Rydges Harbourview Auckland has been upgraded from four-star to four-and-a-half star. The refurbishment included an extension to the property on the corner of Federal and Kingston streets, which has increased the hotels capacity to 267 accommodation rooms and enhanced conferencing facilities.
 
GM of hotel operations Rhys Jones said the new-look hotel will target the corporate and conference customers, and the hotel is ideal for conference groups of 250 to 300.
